10/13 is a special date for fans of The X-Files. For those not in the know, its the birthday of creator Chris Carter, and the name of his production company (“I made this!”).
On this special day, Alaia is joined by two of her best X-Files loving friends, Faiza and Justin, to discuss Season 10 – with a twist. The series order was rearranged before the episodes aired. Before recording, the trio watched in the originally intended order.
You’ll learn how these three friends found the show and get insights into what impact watching S10 in the original order had (hint, its better).
The ladies agree that at this point in their lives they no longer have time to endure subpar status quo programming. While quality programming is hard to find these days, the ladies manage to squeeze out some solid recommendations. American Crime, Married at First Sight, The X-Files, Lucifer, and Younger get the nod of approval this week. They also tip their hats and give a high five to the SAG Awards.
X-Files, X-Files and more X-Files! Not really, but Alaia DID attend a marathon event and gives her recap. We also discuss TBS’ new comedy Angie Tribeca, Donald Trump’s little dancers, documentary Brother Outsider and the state of the Academy Awards (aka the Oscars).
Alaia time travels back to the glorious age of disco when Brandi shares a story about her recent roller skating experience. A faithful listener, Stephanie, opens up a can of X-Files worms that is no small potatoes. The ladies also chat about how much Tyrant sucks, Masters of Sex, and the season finale of Power. Bishop Bullwinkle, Mike Epps, and Hell You Talmbout were also discussed.
If you wish that you could experience the golden age of disco, we want to hear from you.
Chrisley Knows Best is keeping Alaia in stitches while Halt and Catch Fire has her wondering when the cat fights will end. Alaia also tries to find a reason to watch Tyrant but her search isn’t yielding any results. Brandi rants about her favorite YouTube shows, First and That Guy, and she expresses her appreciation (love) for Will Catlett the lead character. The ladies also manage to chat about What Happened, Miss Simone, Paula Deen, Jared The Subway Guy, Charlie Ocean, Celebrity Tinder, and the #dontjudgechallenge.

Pull up a seat and grab a snack because this episode is pretty juicy. Brandi gets a little too deep into the 19 Kids and Counting controversy, we share our favorite #BeyonceAlwaysOnBeat moments, and Alaia reminds us all to believe.
Are you an X-Files fan? Alaia has created a private Facebook group for all of you trench coat wearing fan boys and girls. If you want in, shoot us a note at 18to49podcast[at]gmail.com
On this week’s episode, we wonder where all the black people went when they walked out of the TNT Academy graduation. Alaia fears that Mad Men may be in jeopardy and shows what true fandom looks like when she discusses The X-Files. We dish about network cancellations and renewals, the awful Jem and the Holograms trailer, Game of Thrones and 19 Kids and Counting. Also – we make big fun of CBS and learn a new word.
Make Alaia’s heart flutter by joining her X-Files challenge – season one starts NOW!
Question of the week: What are your thoughts on the new Jem flick?
